Background: 

My interest in Physics was stimulated in childhood by a combination of parents and teachers who were devoted to my education. After I completed my B.Sc. in Physics at Shiraz university, Iran, and M.Sc. at Pune university, India, I started my Ph.D. in engineering at university of Trieste,Italy. I was very fortunate to be supervised in my early research by Prof. J. J. Niemela (ICTP) and Prof. V. Armenio (UNITS) and Prof. K. R. Sreenivasan (NYU), the great pioneers in turbulent flow. They taught me the essential art of self-criticism in research. So, I gradually interested in turbulent flow. I believe fluid dynamics is still an exciting field because of the dual reliance of solutions of exact but difficult equations and on measurements at full scale or in the laboratory. Some other branches of science or engineering have either been taken over completely by computation or have to rely entirely on experiment for lack of quantitative theory.

My Ph.D. thesis on ''Numerical Study of Turbulent Rayleigh-Be'nard Convection with Cubic Confinement'', a subject with important applications in physics and engineering. I was extremely lucky to become involved in this exciting project of interaction between numerical and experimental laboratories which help me to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Giving me a clear perspective about my simulation results.
